Design Engineer (Mechanical) Full Time

Join Electron-X as an Design Engineer (Mechanical) 

At Electron-X, we specialise in high-quality industrial X-ray systems and services—from large lead-lined rooms for aircraft engines and advanced multi-axis manipulators to compact cabinets for inspecting electronic components. 

We’re expanding and looking for a skilled Design Engineer (Mechanical) to join our team in Milton Keynes as soon as possible. 

What You’ll Be Doing 

• Design and drawing of parts and assemblies for x-ray enclosures and manipulators
• Creating and updating bills of materials
• Support and collaboration with the electrical designers
• Supporting Project, Production and Installation Teams

What We’re Looking For 

• A solid amount of practical experience of engineering design project work
• Good MS Office skills (Word & Excel) and excellent written and spoken English
• A pride in delivering high quality results.

Nice to have:

• Experience in the following:
  • NDT & X-Ray or relatable industries
  • Automation/software
  • Electrical Engineering
• Your own Solidworks license (premium or professional) and hardware

The Offer 

• Working from home is envisaged but being relatively local (to Milton Keynes) would be advantageous for face-to-face meetings, office days and customer & supplier visits.
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm 
• 6-month contract with possible extension 
• Salary: £35,000–£40,000 pro rata depending on experience
