We’re looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and fun Personal Assistant / Carer to join the support team of a sociable, ambitious and active male client in Denmead.
He’s a business owner with a degree in Graphic Design and a Master’s in Visual Communication. He’s also a Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme Representative.
“I have Athetoid Cerebral Palsy and use a powered wheelchair. I live life to the full — whether that’s working, going to the gym or going to the theatre. I’m looking for someone to support me in living independently, while enjoying what we do together along the way.”
Assisting with personal care
Helping with everyday tasks like shopping and cooking
Driving a wheelchair-accessible vehicle
Enabling the client to fulfil the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme Athlete Representative role
Joining in social activities such as football, theatre, concerts and events
Accompanying on work trips, sometimes with overnight stays
Working at least two evenings a week (typically 16:00–22:00, but can vary) and a day shift (09:00–17:00, this will vary dependent on need), totalling 18 hours weekly
Supporting at least one weekend a month, including overnight stays or travel (e.g. Friday afternoon–Sunday evening or Saturday morning–Sunday evening)
Covering additional shifts when needed
Shifts are offered six weeks in advance
Friendly, sociable and active
Loves watching football — especially Portsmouth FC (season ticket holder!)
Enjoys the theatre, live music, and spending time with family and friends
Part-shares a black Labrador and enjoys walks
A big fan of a good mystery drama to unwind
Reliable, caring and a good communicator
Physically fit and able to work flexibly
Confident driver with a full clean licence
Sense of humour essential!
Open-minded and happy to learn new skills
Experience is a bonus, but full training will be provided
